I was actually kinda suprised by this. I think the saw that comes in at :30 could be stronger, cuz I still feel like the original melody was too loud. The drop was a bit bizarre as well to me, it felt like there were just kinda wholes, like maybe add another element to it or something. Overall this is pretty good work ;)

Thanks for your review, Etzer! :D

It seems like you are getting pretty good at 7/4. The drums, especially in the second minute are amzing.

I'll start by saying that the intro was fantastic. I think it really helped set the stage for the whole piece which I think most people overlook doing. Once it gets into the main stuff I feel like the pad is a bit loud, and definitely drowns out that badass lead. I think the drum samples you chose are really unique, but I am having a hard time figuring out if I like it or not because they feel kinda bubbly(idk how to describe it better). I also think there definitely couldve. Really none of these issues are that bad, but my biggest complaint is that it felt super super repetitive. It was really hard to catch too many differences in the track, and the repeated drum pauses in each drop thingy just make them seem too similar. Overall I'm pretty impressed with this piece, and I wish you luck in Nguac

AeronMusic responds:

It's made in 6,5 hours so yeah I can see why it sounds kind of repetitive, especially for the drums. I'm happy I could finish this in a few days instead of coming up with nothing.
Welp, gonna take more time after NGAUC has ended.
Thanks a bunch!

I honestly have no clue why this guy thinks its off tune, this is some quality chiptune.

My minor criticisms:
from :30 to :40 I think the lead that existed before sounds out of place, or too quiet.
the transition at around 2:30 could be refined a bit, it just sorta seems to be the same as the one from the first drop, and it doeesnt fit too well with the original melody.

Again, these are very minor, and overall I think this piece is really well made, and is definitely better than some of your newer stuff even.

it sounds like out of tune or something... Like the bass is completely off with the melody in the drop. The snare is pretty loud, and there is a lot of treble, clipping and noise that just really hurts my ears. I think you definitely could've refined this just by adding a lot of EQ. Looking forward to future projhects.

EruptionMusic responds:

thanks for the tips:)

Love to see remixes of my traxk! I love how similar yet different it is idk sure that works 8)
In terms of the song, I think the snare could be more punchy and the kick but be a little tighter. The kick sounds kinda like a synthetic mix between a bass drum and an electronic kick that don't seem to work. The piano sounds with the violin sound a bit sad, or out of place in the track. Otherwise, this is really nicely done and I'm lookin forward to figure stuff!

Really sounds Pokemony, more than any of your other stuff. With more pokemon-esque drums I could legit see this being its own standalone piece in a new pokemon game. Idk I really like it, and the drop from really happy and peaceful to all of a sudden chaos was pretty awesome.

Onefin responds:

A large portion of the Pokemon-y sounds and drums were made by LOrb, so yeah XD

This probably couldn't be a standalone piece in a core game, because it's far too original XD it would stand out being placed in the middle of a bunch of generic crap.

This song takes a lot of turns, some of them pretty sudden XD Glad you like it, Etzer!

Forget chillstep I'd call this feelstep ;3;. I think this could work both as a relaxing upbeat and a sad song at the same time, just depending on how I'm feeling that day.

Onefin responds:

Hey, it's Etzer! How are you today :3

I thought there were sufficient effects and sounds, overall this is a really hype dubstep track. Overall it sounds very professional. My only criticism is that the tempo change was a bit too abrupt and kinda threw me off in my head banging. Overall great, professional sounding song!

Ravitex responds:

Yeah, well, I never really do any tempo changes in my songs, this was the only case, so I would probably need a bit more practice on that. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

It's really confusing because it doesn't feel like hardcore dnb or chill dnb, it's like this bizarre mix that I could both get hyped and fall asleep to at the same time (in a good way).

Well done, although I didn't notice the vocal sample anywhere.

Gravidi responds:

Hey, thanks for the kind words. I see what you mean with the "bizarre mix" XD

I make music and play Geometry Dash!
